The Compliance Playbook: Score Big with Austin Contracting!

Winning Strategy for City Council Compliance

Let’s not beat about the bush. Getting it right with the local council can feel like a complex playbook of rules, regulations and paperwork. Luckily, we’re here to guide you through it all!

We’re one of Christchurch City Council’s (CCC) preferred suppliers, something we’re pretty chuffed about. Not only can we be relied on to do the job well, but we also know the CCC system inside out. Where others baulk at red tape, we know what’s required, we understand the system and we go into every job with the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed.

Better still, we’re happy to complete all the compliance on your behalf. You won’t be chasing your tail and turning cross-eyed as you fill out forms. And we won’t be either…because we know what’s required and we get it right first time.

The end results? Happy customers, happy council inspectors and happy contractors because the job’s done once and the job’s done well.

From Rules to Results: Every Job Completed with Integrity

There’s a lot of jargon when you start looking into siteworks compliance. For example, the average person on the street doesn’t know what Corridor Access Requests are – but we do! Ironically, they’re called a CAR, but to get a CAR you need a WAP, a TMP and a TPMP.

Lost yet?! It’s not rocket science, but a CAR is required if you’re planning to carry out any work or activity that affects the normal operation of the road, footpath or berm. The WAP is your Work Access Permit, the TMP is your Traffic Management Plan and the TPMP is required if you’ll be working within the vicinity of street trees, as per the Council’s Tree Policy.

Needless to say, there are a few forms to be completed, as well as notification of commencement and submission of the WCN (Work Completion Notice) once everything is done and dusted.

However, these rules are required to ensure works comply with the relevant codes, bylaws, acts and standards. They might feel like red tape, but at the end of the day you end up with a job that will stand the test of time…and earthquakes and floods and anything else that Christchurch might throw at us!

Compliance over Cowboys

On our sites, there’s no room for cowboy tactics, just clear compliance, skilled operators and a job done well.

However, our adherence to compliance hasn’t come without a lot of hard unseen work, staying abreast of the rules and regulations so you don’t have to. Because we know the system, we’ll submit your applications, saving you time, site delays and, ultimately, money.

With Austin Contracting, you’ll get a big tick for health and safety, we’ll sign off on your quality assurance testing and we provide the CCC requirement of a two-year warranty on all our vehicle crossings.

And there’s another CCC you need to consider too – your Code of Compliance Certificate. Help to secure it with our expertise and you’ll be safeguarding your investment and future opportunities.  Without a Code of Compliance, you’re risking insurance, the sale of your property and finance approval. It’s the certified evidence that every aspect of your project meets the required standards that could protect you from costly setbacks down the track.

Tackling Every Site with Confidence and Compliance

It’s fair to say we’ve seen our share of tricky sites…but we’re yet to find one that beats us!

From steep and winding hillsides to protected trees that have had their wicked way with pavers, we’ve come at every challenge with confidence. In fact, we recently had a builder, a guy used to the rules and regulations, up to his eyeballs in so much unfamiliar paperwork that he handed it all over to us.

And that’s what sets us apart; our willingness to help others to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Proven Professionalism – Stay Compliant, Stay Ahead

As much as we love getting into our diggers and scrambling eggs to make omelettes, we’re ruled by compliance.

However, our professionalism is your win. We’ve done the hard work, meeting every standard and building a reputation for doing things right. Now it’s time to make that compliance work for you.
