Take, for example, New Zealand’s premier tennis tournament, the ASB Classic, where some of the biggest names battle it out under the Auckland sun (and drizzle!) A young Rafael Nadal lost his final in 2004, our very own Lulu Sun returned home earlier this year, and the iconic Serena Williams took out the title in 2020.
However, if you can drag your eyes from the on-court action, take a moment to appreciate the courts. You see, we’re the team behind them. Yep, we’re that crew of Cantabrians who went to Auckland and delivered sporting excellence from the ground up, installing courts that not only thrust us into the international spotlight, but showcased our ability to deliver an exceptional project.

Take a drive along Yaldhurst Road and you’ll come across Christchurch United Football Club. Self-described innovators, this is a football club who dare to dream big.
It was a challenging job, but we successfully installed their mini football pitches, laying an artificial surface specified by the club, learning a little Korean along the way (long story!), and having a bit of sporting fun while we were at it!
Injured But Not Out
We know players get injured, but it’s not often the pitch is involved in an accident too! However, that’s exactly what happened when a member of the public crashed through the fence of a local secondary school and destroyed their synthetic sports surface!
Fortunately, the school called us, and we were able to doctor their turf and their fencing so that today, it’s as good as new and back to its playable best.
